Reach Racer on "Oni: Sword Base":
Play mission 3 on co-op with two players. There are two secret switches that are marked as "doors" that you can open, both of wich can be found after Rally Point Alpha (where you must destroy the Wraiths). Switch "A" is on the coast of the water southeast of the buildings with a pair of switches that you must activate. The switch on some rocks near the frozen waterfall. The message "Hold X to Open Door" will appear when in the correct location. Note: Reload your weapon before finding it. Switch "B" is past the AA cannon in the next area. Find a pile of rocks with some trees on it that overlooks the walled complex on the ice that is below the area. With both players standing at those locations, press X simultaneously. The message "REACH RACER" will appear. You will then be transported to the Oni: Sword Base with two Gauss Cannon Warthogs. You can race the other player through a course marked by red waypoints. The losing Warthog will explode at the end of the race.
Dr. Halsey's office on "The Package":
With two players on Legendary, skip to Rally Point Bravo and continue until Dr. Halsey announces that her lab is open. Do not enter the lab or use the panel on the door to end the mission. instead, get an unmarked Jet Pack from the wall at the northern side of the lab entrance area and have one player remain in a safe location while the other player fly to the far eastern line of buildings. Run up the ramp, turn left (north), and notice the fenced-off area on the upper level lines the out-of-bounds region to the northeast. Drop off the northeastern corner and carefully move towards the rocky out-of-bounds area below. Do not touch it. Hover above it and search for a panel with a green light which you can access on a girder, then press X to activate it. This opens a door on the north side of Halsey's lab entrance. Some Elites with Energy Swords will appear from there. Fly over them or run a Ghost through them, then enter the open door. When transported to a hallway, follow it to the lab area where you can see hidden features including old Halo artwork and data panels with joke text.
Invincibility and permanent Armor Lock glitch:
Two players are required to perform this trick. Go into Forge mode and create an Armor Lock armor ability, then drop it on player two. Next, create another Armor Lock ability and press B. Delete all of these from the map. Click it and hover over "Yes". Have player two go into Armor Lock. While he is in Armor Lock, choose "Yes" at the "Delete all of these from map" message. Player two will become invincible and can move around in permanent Armor Lock. You can still use other equipment, such as Evade.
Quickly climb objects:
To quickly climb a surface that is slightly slanted (but not completely vertical or horizontal) use Evade. You can also jump to it from several stories up, thus surviving a fall. For example, on "Forge World" you can jump from the high mountains located to the left of the waterfall to the slightly tilted rocks below. Note: Your speed also affects the likelihood of your death. Hitting these rocks will slow you down, and are tilted so you do not technically "hit" the ground. Use Evade to get to small spaces, and quickly scale objects.
Campaign teammate dies glitch:
On the second mission, after talking to the "rebels", there is a bridge. Run between the rocks and jump off the edge. After a couple attempts, one or more of your teammates should spawn down there. You can headshot them with the pistol to make them back up to their deaths. They will remain dead until you go to the next house.

Club Errera alternate music on "New Alexandria":
Start mission 7, reach Club Errera, and return to the hospital. Then, fly to one of the ledges below the normal entrance and find a green light at the correct ledge. Activate it and return to Club Errera. When you walk in, the song "Never Surrender" will be playing. To change the music again, return to your Falcon and fly to the roof of Club Errera. Activate the switch located there to hear the song "Siege of Madrigal" at Club Errera. Note: Return to the dance club after it is cleared to see a Brute DJ and bartender, as well as interesting behavior from the Grunts.
Flyable Pelican and Phantom on "New Alexandria":
From the beginning, progress until the part where you have to defend the ONI Tower near the end of the mission. Note: Get a jetpack from Club Errera when you destroy the jammer there, or behind the Jammer in the hospital if needed. Do not die or the jetpack will be lost. After you destroy all the jammers and are told to defend ONI Tower, fly over to Club Errera in a Falcon and follow the procedure in the video.
Programmer's face on Forgeworld:
On Forgeworld and any map, walk to the edge of the hangar and zoom your view into the background with a weapon (where you see Halo orbiting). If you look closely at the base of the ring, you'll see the face of Chris Carney in the clouds of the Halo.
Master Chief in The Pillar of Autumn:
On "The Pillar Of Autumn", set the difficulty to normal and start at Rally Point Bravo. Once you take control over the big laser cannon, fight off all the Phantoms until a cinematic starts showing a Covenant Battle Cruiser exploding and The Pillar of Autumn starting to take off. Once the cinematic begins, hold the Right Analog-stick Right. When the Pelican is coming inside the ship, your camera will automatically move to the right and you will see the Master Chief in Cryo sleep, inside a Cryo Tube wearing his Mark V armor.
7 easter eggs:
-After completing the"The Pillar Of Autumn" mission, wait for the credits to end to notice the loading object turn into a different shape. Most people will not notice it, but it is a "7". This is a reference to Bungie's favorite number.
-The highest existing rank is "Legend" but Bungie added 7 additional ranks, which are Mythic, Noble, Eclipse, Nova, Forerunner, Reclaimer and Inheritor--yet another reference to Bungie's favorite number.
-Play through the "Winter Contingency" mission. When you reach the part where Noble 2 or Kat is trying to shut the door, go inside and go through the hallway until you find the dead person on the floor. Kat will tell you to "Check his dead body", or something similar. Allow the cinematic to play. When Kat kicks the assault rifle over to you and your character picks it up, look on the assault rifle's ammo. It has Bungie's favorite number on it.
"Banshees, Fast And Low" achievement hint:
On the "Exodus" mission , go to the final rally point where Two Falcons land. Quickly dispatch the Marines when they land, then seek cover. The Falcon gunners will try to kill you. Run to a gunner and the message "Hijack enemy vehicle" will appear. Select it to unlock the achievement.
"Firestarter", "Blaze Of Glory", "Heat In The pipe", "Game, Set, Match", and "Crowd Control" achievements hint:
-On Firefight Classic, go to "Game Options" and under "Firefight" settings, go to the "Custom Skull" settings. Select either the red, yellow, or blue skull to edit, then go to "Spartan Traits". Under "Shields And Health", select the "Invulnerable" option. Under "Shield Multiplier", choose "4x Over-shields", enable "Immune To Head-shots" and "Immune To Assassinations". Go back one screen. Under "Weapons And Damage", set the damage modifier to 300%, melee modifier to 300%, and infinite ammo to bottomless clip. Go back two screens. Under the same skull settings, choose Wave Traits". Set the damage modifier to 0%, damage resistance to 10%, vision to near sighted, hearing to deaf, and luck to unlucky. Return to the "Firefight" settings menu and "Wave Properties", make sure the skull you customized (red, blue or yellow) is enabled in each wave and the bonus wave. Save your game type and change the difficulty to "Legendary". Start the game. You will be pretty much invincible, and you will blast through the Covenant easily. You should unlock all of the achievements in about three hours, depending on your skill.
-Note: To do this much easier, follow everything in the above hint. However, in "Wave Properties" in the "Skulls" menu, enable every skull to every single wave--including the bonus wave. Then, choose "Bonus Wave" and set all the enemies to "Hunters". Set the timer to 2 minutes (because Hunters give the most score for taking them out). On the first page, set the "Wave Limit" and "Time Limit" both to "Unlimited". Set the "Game Difficulty" to "Legendary" and start the game. Once the game starts, take out enemies until you obtain an explosive weapon (concussion rifle recommended). Then, start using that weapon and fight off all waves. Once the bonus round starts, there will be three Hunters spawning each second non-stop until the map cannot spawn any more of them. If one of them gets killed, it will instantly get replaced by another one. Keep rapidly pressing RT to quickly take them out so they can be replaced fast. You can quickly kill more of them and will be rewarded with high points. Repeat the process and you will get about 1 million points in just two sets, which requires about 40 minutes.
Emile's helmet avatar award hint:
Go to "Matchmaking" and select "Community", then "Grifball". It only features gravity hammers and energy swords, allowing the Bulltrue medal to be earned with ease.
Jun's helmet avatar award hint:
To unlock this avatar award, you must kill 100 opponents in a row in either Firefight or Campaign mode, without dying . An easy way to do this is to go to Firefight mode and select "Game Settings". Choose "Spartan Settings" and go to "Shield Damage And Resistance". Set the "Shield Damage Resistance" to "Invulnerable". By doing this, you will never die, no matter what damage taken. Press B and go to the "Weapon" options, then set the "Infinite Ammo" option to "Bottomless Clip". By doing this, reloadable weapons never have to reload and plasma weapons never overheat. Start Firefight mode under any difficulty setting and kill 100 enemies in a row without dying easily. Once done, you will unlock an Avatar Award which contains JUN's helmet. You can use the helmet by going to "Customize Avatar" and selecting "Avatar Awards". Note: Doing the "invincible trick" on Firefight too much may lead you to lose your actual skill.
Demo version: Leave boundary on "Boneyard":
In Boneyard and on the ship, there is a staircase with two flights that leads from the ground to the ship. This staircase is to your right when you are looking at the Elite spawn on Invasion. Walk onto the upper flight of stairs and look at the fence keeping you from falling off the ship. Jump to the lower part of the fence and turn to the open area, then jump onto the part of the ship that hangs over the edge. You are now out of the level boundary. If there is only one person on the console, look at the indicator of where you are (bulkheads, under the ship, bridge, etc.) to see that it reads 'out of bounds'. This is a great location to pick off the Elites in Invasion with a DMR. Note: You can only walk so far over before you fall off the ship and die.
Demo version: Plasma turret air drop on "Boneyard":
In Forge on "Boneyard", get into a tank and look above the large ship. There should be a Phantom floating above it. Shoot at it a couple times to hear and see it break apart. Turn into Forge mode and fly up towards where the broken pieces would have fallen. You will have a ten second time limit. Fly to a Plasma Turret, turn human, pick it up, and leave.
Unlockable Lone Wolf mission:
Complete the game on the Normal difficulty or higher to play the Lone Wolf bonus mission after the credits.
Data Pad locations:
Find the following 19 Data Pads by searching the corresponding locations:
Winter Contingency (any difficulty)
After driving across the first bridge, stay right to eventually approach a group of buildings with Covenant in them. The Data Pad is next to a dead body in the first building on the right. Note: You can reach the Data Pad quicker by loading the "Rally Point Alpha" checkpoint.
Winter Contingency (Legendary difficulty)
As soon as you begin the level, a cloaked Covenant Elite will run, from left to right, across your field of fire. Sprint quickly downhill and shoot at the Covenant Elite before it flees the field. Once you kill it, the Data Pad will be lying by its body. Note: Simply restart the mission if you fail to kill the Covenant Elite.
Oni: Sword Base (any difficulty)
The Data Pad is inside the Sword Base, toward the end of the level. When you get to the large area where there are crosswalks connecting to each of the floors, go to the third floor and look underneath a set of stairs inside a meeting room to find the Data Pad. Note: You can reach the Data Pad faster by loading the "Rally Point Bravo" checkpoint.
Oni: Sword Base (Legendary difficulty)
Load the "Rally Point Bravo" checkpoint, then turn around and go all the way back to the buildings from earlier (where you would have had a large enemy battle at). This makes it much easier to get the Data Pad and you do not even have to fight a single enemy on Legendary this way. Go to the large center section of the "Oni Sword Base" level. Once you get to the area with the buildings by the beach, go to the rooftop of the building that is nearest to the very large rocky mountain. On the side of the building is a broken wooden bridge that leads to the rocks. Use sprint to jump over the gap and get to the other side. Once you get to the other side, you will find the Data Pad at the end of the rock mountain near the edge on the ground.
Nightfall (any difficulty)
As soon as the level begins, go in the cave to your right. The Data Pad will be alongside the left wall behind a rock, lying on the ground in some grass.
Nightfall (Legendary difficulty)
Run through while avoiding most of the enemies you come across until you get to the riverbed, which is after the upcoming area of building with the marines. Skip all the enemies in this area by traveling along the left side of the mountain and into the water. Then, go straight to the riverbed until you come across a lot of green beacon/lights. At the fifth beacon, get on top of the rock ledge above you, and follow the cliffside path (hop across the river to the other side). You will cross back over a low stone overpass; continue following the cliffside trail back upriver after the overpass to find the Data Pad. Note: You can reach the Data Pad quicker by loading the "Rally Point Alpha" checkpoint.
Tip Of The Spear (any difficulty)
After killing the Zealot at the end of the mining facility, drop in the ruined facility and proceed to the room adjacent to the one you dropped into (before heading back outside). After dropping down to the first floor in this area, the Data Pad will be inside the next room to your left as you enter on top of a shelf behind some boxes on the shelving unit.
Tip Of The Spear (Legendary difficulty)
Look on the broken bridge that is right after you exit the valley but before you have to take out the Covenant anti-air gun, around where you encounter the second anti-air turret. Jump down to the ground from above, then jump onto the part of the broken bridge pillar. Once you have jumped onto the large broken part of the bridge with the broken Warthog, use a Ghost or Revenant as an extra platform to jump up to it. The Data Pad is lying on the ground next to the fallen marine. Note: You can reach the Data Pad faster by loading the "Rally Point Alpha" checkpoint.
Long Night Of Solace (any difficulty)
The Data Pad can be found inside the control room (with a hologram in the center of the red glowing section of the room) before you enter the Saber to go into orbit. It is lying on the ground next to a fallen marine and below another computer console on the left side of the room.
Long Night Of Solace (Legendary difficulty)
The Data Pad is on the structure above the walkway to the Saber, inside the launch room and just after the control room. Make sure you do not go up the last set of stairs and into the Saber or you will have to start the mission over. After going up the first flight of stairs, look to your left and jump onto that structure's ledge, then jump onto the back of the light stand. Once you are on top of the light stand (you can do a Grenade Jump), jump onto the structure behind you and go up the ramp to find the Data Pad lying on the ground next to another light stand. Get there by following the ledge to the end of the path.
Exodus (any difficulty)
Right after acquiring the jetpack, use it to get to the point where the green arrows point forward/up immediately after you leap over a gap while fighting alongside the ODST Bull Frog. The Data Pad is right after you fight off all the Brutes and Grunts in this area. Before going forward, in the last part where the Brutes were, there is a walkway above in the rafters. It will be lying on the walkway, next to the dead body of a civilian slumped against the wall and in front of the door. Note: You can reach the Data Pad faster by loading the "Rally Point Alpha" checkpoint.
Exodus (Legendary difficulty)
Load the "Rally Point Alpha" checkpoint and get to the area just before the "Rally Point Bravo" checkpoint, after the large gap. Kill all the enemies in the area, then go to the area just before the painted "New Alexandria" sign on the building. Cross the bridge connecting the two very large buildings. At the right side of the building, near the top, are two black vents underneath the overhang. The Data Pad is on top of the second vent, to the right. The jetpack is required to get up there. However, it will take several reloads of your jetpack to get there by using some beams to scale the long vertical shaft. Note: Be careful as you may end up falling if your timing is not right. It may take several attempts to reach this area.
New Alexandria (any difficulty)
In the beginning of the level, keep flying straight ahead and toward the red glow in the horizon. Look for the shark-finned skyscraper with lateral black bands (windows) on its spine (it is the furthest building slightly to the right when you begin the mission). The Data Pad is on the right side of this building's rooftop. Land on the back of the rooftop to get it.
New Alexandria (Legendary difficulty)
The Data Pad is located at the lowest point at which you can fly on the outside ledge of the building located directly behind where you start. When the mission starts, fly the Falcon to the building directly opposite the landing pad and descend into the fog. Fly to any point on the ledge and get as close to the building as possible. The Data Pad can be seen on a ledge on the middle part of the building (altitude -120). You will need to jump from the Falcon and onto the ledge to get the Data Pad. Hold X to get out of the Falcon and drop onto the ledge. The Data Pad will be at the far left side of the ledge.
The Package (any difficulty)
The Data Pad is found just before the elevator cutscene that takes you to the excavation site. Stand by the green panel in the room with the lift, then turn around 180 degrees and look down to see it. Note: You can reach the Data Pad faster by loading the "Rally Point Alpha" checkpoint.
The Package (Legendary difficulty)
The Data Pad is in the area where you defend Dr. Halsey’s laboratory. Once you get the jetpack from the area you have to defend, head to the first defense system that you have to activate and fly up to the rocks behind it. Then, continue forward in that direction to eventually reach the rooftop of a building after the rocks. Use the jetpack from here until you get to the left side of the building where the Data Pad is. Note: Use controlled bursts of your jetpack to make it there and back. Additionally, you can reach the Data Pad faster by loading the "Rally Point Bravo" checkpoint.
The Pillar Of Autumn (any difficulty)
Immediately after the shipyard, in the first hallway you enter when you go into the building (immediately after the "Rally Point Alpha" checkpoint), you will be near a glass window in a long hallway. The Data Pad is past the window. Head down the hallway and around the corner, then shoot the second window on the right side to shatter the glass. Climb through the broken window (you will need to duck to get through) to find the Data Pad in the left corner on top of a table.
The Pillar Of Autumn (Legendary difficulty)
The Data Pad is on the rooftop at the end of the shipyard, right before (and above) the entrance to the building (after the two battles before you enter the shell of the craft). Use the stairs to get onto the roof, then jump to the ledge with the Data Pad. It is located on the very right side of the roof of that building, in the corner. This is the building behind the turrets (above the garage) controlled by the enemy. Note: You can reach the Data Pad faster by loading the "Rally Point Alpha" checkpoint.
Lone Wolf (Legendary difficulty)
The final Data Pad is located directly ahead from where you start, inside a large pipe that is suspended in the air with red columns around it, behind a ramp. Sprint to get there as fast as possible, then use it again to clear the jump on the platform next to the pipe. The pipe is found on the platform with the sniper rifle. Jump again onto the next structure, to the left of the pipe, and then finally jump into the pipe by using the red columns around the pipe to reach the entrance and find the Data Pad.
Invisible elite hint:
While playing Winter Contingency on legendary difficulty, as soon as you get off the Falcon, sprint forward and switch to your pistol for better aiming. You'll notice an invisible elite running away. Try killing him before he gets too far, otherwise he'll just disappear. If you kill him, he'll drop one of the many Data pads you need to collect throughout the game.
Crystal armor glitch:
Get the Armor Lock Glitch working, then get active camo to have Crystal Armor.
Skull effects:
Skulls are not collected in Halo: Reach as in previous games. Instead, you turn them on before starting a campaign session for the following effects:
Primary Skulls
SKULL - EFFECT
Iron Skull - Co-Op reverts to previous checkpoint on player death. Single player death restarts entire mission. (Restart at checkpoints with all of your weapons and ammo in co-op, but you'll restart the mission on single player)
Black Eye Skull - Shields don’t recharge except from melee attacking enemies. (Your shield won't recharge unless you perform a melee)
Tough Luck Skull - Enemies always make every saving throw, always berserk, always dive, never flee. (Every enemy will dodge slower attacks, like needles and grenades. Grunts will suicide attack and Brutes will charge)
Catch Skull - Enemies are grenade happy -- 2x as often and 2x as fast. (Lots of grenades)
Cloud Skull - Motion sensor disabled with this setting. (No "radar")
Famine Skull - Weapons drop 50% less ammo. (Less ammo from picked up weapons)
Thunderstorm Skull - Major upgrade to all enemies. (All enemies have more life)
Tilt Skull - Damage tables are modified. (Enemy weaknesses and strengths are increased -- Elite shields are susceptible to nothing but Plasma Pistols)
Mythic Skull - Double enemy health. (More health for all enemies)
Secondary Skulls
SKULL - EFFECT
Blind Skull - HUD and first person arms and weapon are hidden. (Clears the screen but won't affect gameplay)
Cowbell Skull - Acceleration scale from explosions is 3x. (Things fly further)
Grunt Birthday Skull - Grunts explode as if they were plasma grenades when they are killed with a headshot. (More explosions = more fun)
IWHBYD Skull - Common combat dialog becomes less common, and vice versa. (Hear rare dialog from computer-controlled players)
Locusts and funny dialog on New Alexandra:
On the mission "New Alexandra", there's a building where, after deactivating the jammer, a swarm of Locusts flying things come after you. Onthe right hand side of the building, somewhere on the 2nd or 3rd floor, is a marine that freaks out and says a bunch of funny things. He says different things each difficulty.
Legendary Difficulty hint:
While playing on legendary, the best weapons are the plasma pistol and any other single shot weapons like the DMR, Magnum Pistol or Needle Rifle. This combo is very effective on elites as you can charge up your plasma pistol, shoot the elite to take away his energy shield, then switch to your DMR and down him with one or two head shots.
