Bonus world
  Successfully complete the game to unlock the bonus world at the top of the world map.

Chaos Emeralds
Collect all of the red rings in a zone to unlock a Chaos Emerald for that zone.
Play as Super Sonic
  Collect all seven Chaos Emeralds to unlock Super Sonic. Then, collect 50 rings in a level, and tap the icon on the Gamepad to use Super Sonic.
Bonus levels
 Successfully complete the indicated task to unlock the corresponding level:

Desert Ruins Zone: Collect all 15 red star rings in Desert Ruins.

Frozen Factory Zone: Collect all 15 red star rings in Frozen Factory.

Lava Mountain Zone: Collect all 120 red star rings.

Silent Forest Zone: Collect all 15 red star rings in Silent Forest.

Sky Road Zone: Collect all 15 red star rings in Sky Road.

Tropical Coast Zone: Collect all 15 red star rings in Tropical Zone.

Windy Hill Zone: Collect all 15 red star rings in Windy Hill.

Hard mode 
Successfully complete the game to unlock the Hard difficulty.
Music player 
Defeat the final Boss to unlock the music player.
